Scott Reach's involvement with Cannabis began as a medical patient. His battle with Crohn's disease led him to explore medical marijuana as a treatment option. This personal journey became a professional passion as he started cultivating his strains to manage his condition. His success led to the foundation of Rare Dankness around 2010, to provide the best genetics to the cannabis community and ensure patients like himself had access to high-quality medicinal Cannabis and genetics.

This history led to the foundation of Rare Dankness in 2010 in Colorado after countless years of growing, breeding, collecting, preserving and experimenting with many strains of Cannabis. Through their hard work and dedication, they have worked with some of the world's most sought-after and desired songs and cuts. Rare Danknesses' collection spans three decades and represents the finest specimens of Cannabis strains worldwide. Rare Dankness has brought out countless killer hybrids, including many cup-winning strains that have taken the industry by storm across indica, sativa and hybrid categories. Rare Dankness continues to create elite hybrids even today. 

Rare Dankness's strains are not meant to reproduce a mother but to complement the genetics by pairing two great strains. 

Early accolades for the brand were awarded to a staple indica, the Starkiller OG as well as one of their staple Sativa's, a haze-based strain that they called Moonshine Haze. Pure Sativa quickly recognised the stellar work and have been working together since the early days. We even teamed up to make the Tangie Ghost Train Haze strain from Little Chief Collabs, which fused DNA Genetics' Tangie & RD's Ghost Train Haze #1. 

Some of Rare Dankness's most recent strains include the new Runtz Ghost Train, which crosses their legendary Ghost Train Haze #1 with the new-school candy-gas hybrid known as Runtz.
