Paradise Seed's California Collection welcomes you to Paradise
Origins of Paradise Seeds
Paradise seeds are true OG's in the weed seed business, as the company was founded back in 1994 to improve the quality of cannabis available in Amsterdam at the time. Back then, most of the material sold in the coffeeshops was poor quality hash from India, Afghanistan or Morocco or unsatisfactory flowers from Malawi, Mexico, Colombia or Thailand. Simultaneously, America was beginning to showcase excellent quality material & starting to make waves across the country, much to the envy of consumers on other continents! Witnessing this progression was the catalyst that hurtled the Paradise team into researching & breeding high-quality genetics; thus, Paradise Seeds helped shaped Dutch cannabis. After building up a legacy for providing some of the best genetics in Europe, their popularity soared when Dutch cannabis became internationally recognised, as international travellers realised the exceptional cannabis that their genetics helped to create.o
Since that time, they haven't let up showing that they have the staying power to survive and compete with the fast-moving industry of genetics today; their latest drops are from their California Seeds Collection that features iconic Cali genetics in their lineage. These Cali strains have been crossed with some of Paradise's signature dutch genetics, enabling them to improve these already legendary strains from the Netherlands.
California Collection
Their latest 3-strain drop is part of their California Collection, are genetic crosses using the infamous Thin Mint Cookies phenotype of the Girl Scout Cookies strains, arguably the most acclaimed pheno of the Girl Scout Cookies that's been utilised in creating countless contemporary Cali genetics, including gelato 41 and gelato 33.
First up, we have the Chocolate Wafflez, an exotic-treat sounding name fitting for this cross of the Thin Mint Cookies and L.A. Amnesia. The L.A. Amnesia is a well-known cultivar from the Tommy Chong Collection; that mixed two staples of their respective regions of origin, we have the dutch classic Amnesia Haze crossed with an L.A. Kush that was Kush began to take hold of connoisseurs. By adding the Thin Mint Cookies into the genetic coding, they've created a genuinely unique blend with an exotic terp profile mixing spices, blackberry, mint & chocolate. The cultivar grows compact with that typical golfball, rounded bud structure that is typical with cookie genetics, it starts creating resin early, and by six weeks, legal growers can expect stunning frosty buds.
Secondly, we've got the new Apricot Candy strain, a cross between Paradise's Dutch Dragon and the Thin Mint Cookies, one of the most sought-after GSC phenos. Apricot Candy fuses the old with the new using the Dutch Dragon, whose roots are traced back to Swaziland, India, and the Netherlands. This cultivar represents an almost perfect mixing pot now; it has been crossed to the Californian classic Thin Mint Cookies.
The terp profile of this cultivar won't leave anyone wondering where the name comes from, providing an irresistible mix of ripe apricots and apple/fig pie that smells like a bakery on a Sunday afternoon or your Grans pie freshly served with double cream. Caryophyllene is the most prominent terp in the profile, giving an exotic cookie funk and a rich vanilla creaminess that's reminiscent of a gourmet dessert. Legal growers are sure to be exhilarated by the vibrant reds, mellow purples & navy blues, making for some serious bag appeal. The buds grow as chunky and dense as one would expect, with swelling starting early as well as the snowflake-white trichomes beginning to stack early.
Lastly, we have the Tangerine Sorbet from Paradise that's conceived through crossing one of Paradise's favourite strains, the Wappa, with the Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies, one of the best Cali strains.
The Wappa's genetics have been kept as a closely maintained secret, although it's known that Skunk and Afghani genetics make up part of its heritage. The Wappa results from intensive genetic research and testing to optimise the characteristics found in the strain, from its epic genetics resiliency to fantastic resin production. The terpene profile found in the Wappa is seriously fruity, expressing aromas of freshly-picked cherries and strawberries that elegantly mix with the doughy, minty baked goods scents.
The buds from this strain show outstanding uniformity with healthy growth, developing high quantities of flower heads that grow in super large & dense. Once again, the GSC genetics have significantly increased the resin production on this cultivar to the extent that they look like sticky buds have been coated in the freezer's ice when you've reached for a late-night snack of sorbet. Deep under the frosty coating are visible hits of purples with red tints, making for an exceptional bag appeal.
