Today, we will take you through three new school legendary hash washing strains that all haveh exceptional hash washing potential: Papaya, Tropicana Cookies F1, and Wilson. We'll briefly talk through their history and exposure through different breeder history and detail their exposure through different breeders & growers' networking, all of which enabled them to become the celebrated hash strains they are now. 

Papaya stems from Pink House in Colorado, a recreational or medical facility that was pumping out the Papaya cross from Nirvana Seeds. Papaya is a genetic cross with an intense lineage of Citral #13 x Ice #2, which is an old school indica leaning cross with great hash washing returns. Poochie, is the grower/ breeder, that the Poochie's Papaya cut is named after, got this cut and showed it to Harry Palms leading to him obtaining the clone from Poochie. Harry Palms (of Bloom Seed Co) then made reversals with it to use it to pollinate other significant cuts of his keeper cuts of select strains. Nikka T, reportedly may have been the one that popped the seeds at the Pink House facility that led to the Papaya clone-only variety.

All Papaya hybrids on the market, such as the Papaya Cake, Poon Tang Pie, Poochie's Papaya etc., stem from Harry Palm's reversal of the Papaya clone. The Papaya is a unique strain as it produces a subtle sour dominated scent that is equally putrid and rotten as it is fruit and sweet; however, you'll notice her tropical, sweet and cream notes are what really stick in your nose. The flavour profile tends to be a little cheesy and funky, with the sweet, creamy tropical concoction mixing just like a natural papaya tastes. 

Next up we have the history of the Tropicana Cookies F1, Harry Palms, aka Bloom Seed CO. popped three packs of Crockett Family Farms x DNA Genetic's Tangie; he found decent females but one male stunk out the vegetation. This male was then taken and used to pollinate four different strains: Cherry Pie Tangie, Death Star, ChemD & Forum Cookies. The Forum Cookies x Tangie is the parentage that resulted in the Tropicana Cookies F1. 

Forum Cookies x Tangie came about in 2014 and they were popped in that year; MTN trop cut was found by Top Note. He then gave that cut back to Harry Palms. With the Tropicana Cookies F1 MTN pheno, they decided that the strain should deserve a more appealing name than Girl Scout Cookie Tangie; next they picked the name Tropicana Cookies for the cultivar thanks to the intense tropical orange flavour profile. This is the Tropicana Cookies F1 that so many people refer to these days; as created by Harry Palms. 

After two or three years, Harry Palms gifted Oni Seed Co/ Oni Noodles with a couple packs of the Tropicana Cookies as well the infamous MTN cut of the Tropicana Cookies F1. Oni Seeds found an exceptional male cut of the F1 in those seed packs gifted by Harry Palms. Oni Seed then took the MTN cut of the Tropicana Cookies F1 and pollinated her with the pollen he'd collated from his male. When Oni produced this cross & collected the seeds from her, he'd created what he would release as the Tropicana Cookies F2. Nowadays the Tropicana Cookies F1 probably isn't held in any growers stables as it was early and only a very select number of growers/ breeders would have had access to the F1. Tropicana Cookies F2 is likely where most of the Tropicana Cookies clones/ products on the market stem from. 

Masonic Smoker of Masonic Seed Co then took home all the genetics that he managed to source at the Chalice Cup. He popped all of the Papaya reversal crosses from the Papaya reversal from Harry Palms. He then popped the Tropicanca Cookies and found a nice Tropicanca F2. He bred the Tropicana F2 male with the Papaya crosses; Fabulozo Papaya, 3 Chem Papaya, Purple Punch Papaya, Banana OG Papaya and Dosidos Papaya. Masonic Smoker then made his first load of intentional seed stock, Trop F2 crossed with the Papaya reversals. Harry Palms gave his blessing for the seed stock to be produced, however, Oni Noodles reached out to Masonic and let him know that he was planning on using the same Banana OG Papaya hybrid to pollinate with the Tropicana Cookies F2 from that that same cross. They then agreed on a deal to release the seeds fully tested under Oni's brand, and some seed stock was reserved for Masonic Smoker to put out. 

Wilson was the keeper strain that Masonic Smoker ran with to introduce his genetic work to the world. He picked her as his male from the Wilson looked the hardiest and most resilient of all his male cuts. He then popped tons of the Wilson seed stock and every male he found was from this stock. His first Wilson pollination was an indoor pollination, was the Wilson F1 pollintion. He then did some outside with a different F1 male and this resulted in him finding his special Wilson F2 male which has been the pollinator in all following Wilson hybrids pollinations although he has now made a Wilson F3 too.
