Product Earth 2021!
This year's 'Product Earth' event was bigger and better than ever before! We eagerly anticipated the event after two years since the last 'Product Earth' due to the global pandemic.
The Puresativa Team were honoured to be a 'Main Sponsor' at the 'Product Earth' expo. Playing our part in the only cannabis, CBD and hemp event in the UK; that is equal parts business, community and cannabis lifestyle. In the words of a popular cannabis grower cartoon Southpark's Randy, the combination of companies and the public created a harmonious, symbiotic dynamic grounded in 'tegridy'. Product Earth has always had a warm, friendly and relaxed atmosphere. However, after the isolation we experienced during the pandemic, positivity and unity surpassed expectations. The environment nurtured open and honest conversations concerning the future of our industry, making the event a groundbreaking weekend that helped foster growth in the UK canna industries. Furthermore, due to the travel restrictions, most exhibitors and customers were based in the UK, making us feel even more grateful to participate in this unimaginable event.
Product Earth 2021 kicked off on Friday, which was dedicated as a business-to-business day. After networking online and this almost becoming a new norm, physically seeing our suppliers and retailers and establishing potential new relationships for the first time in a while was a breath of fresh air. Committing a day for B2B helped to facilitate early doors networking. Allowing businesses to have the opportunity for new connections to be made, old relationships to be rekindled, both sparking new ideas for the future. Recognised as a wholesale business, Friday was a fantastic opportunity for our Puresativa team to catch up with our suppliers and retailers to focus on our mission statement to provide the very best products. We believe a 'B2B' day is a key and fundamental aspect of Product Earth as a professional company. It enables exhibitors to fully engage with customers over the weekend, giving our undivided attention; after focusing on our business relationships. This professional yet entertaining scene sets Product Earth apart from other exhibitions, positively challenging stigmas against our industry. The energy created has made us highly thrilled for Product Earth 2022, where hopefully, suppliers and customers from abroad can experience this exhibition with us again.
Education
One of the cornerstones of the event were the countless informative and educational seminars and 'Fireside Chats' that were held to notify, inspire and educate the public around a diverse range of topics. For example, Marley One and Silo Wellness at the intimate Afterdark event, 'Fireside Chats', discussed the future of mushrooms by introducing a fascinating perspective to visit the history of indigenous tribes and learn how we can incorporate specific actions into today's practice and beyond. In addition, the selection of seminars included necessary educational conversations on the drug science of herbal and natural plants for medicines, moving from prohibition to prescription and the barriers preventing access to medication from the perspective of the patient and carer. Another speaker introduced over the weekend was Dr Shanna Marrinan from 'Psyence Fair', who revealed how her psilocybin trial took her on an incredible and powerful trip, leading her to the journey she is embarking on today. Different engaging talks covered the education on the natural hallucinogenic Ayahuasca, the imperative conversation on drugs policy and policing methods and plenty more. Product Earth's seminars reflected the notion that knowledge is power. The thought-provoking talks provided a catalyst for further research and inspiration for individuals new to the scene or experts within the industry. The variety in topics covered nearly every talking point concerning the cannabis plant and introduced other plants for medicinal attributes. The in-depth discussions stimulated people's minds surrounding subjects such as legalisation and safe consumption.
Our award-winning range
Every Product Earth, it is imperative that our Puresativa Team carefully consider and select merchandise to accommodate our customers with prominent and outstanding choices. Seedbanks included the likes of the 'Perfect Tree', who we are incredibly proud to have joined our range of esteemed seedbanks in January 2021. The small group of cannabis connoisseurs who established 'Perfect Tree' are recognised for owning 'The Backyard', one of Barcelona's most favourite members clubs, where their powerhouse genetics built up a roaring reputation. Their seeds have skyrocketed from launching their strains at Puresativa due to their impressive terpene profiles and were a massive success during the Product Earth weekend. Other notorious seedbanks include 'The Plug Seedbank' with whom we have opened the 'Pure Plug' shop in Barcelona, developing a long-lasting relationship. 'The Plug Seedbank' has continued to accelerate since the birth of their brand, always bringing fire genetics. Such as 'Baklava', 'El Chapo' and 'Lots of Z'; the most popular genetics from the seedbank at Product Earth. Other mentions include the infamous 'Karma Genetics', whose reputation speaks for itself. The powerhouse and Puresativa had a special surprise for our customers at Product Earth, where we delivered an exclusive and limited drop of 'Sowahh', one of the most sought after genetics, on a first-come, first-serve basis.
When exhibiting at Product Earth as main sponsors, we believe it is integral to provide our customers with the ultimate Puresativa experience. This means promos and giveaways are essential to allow our customers to make their purchases worthwhile while receiving great products they didn't expect. As usual, when purchasing a pack of cannabis seeds, you receive an additional promo from certain seedbanks; however, each year, we aim to surpass expectations. Therefore, at 'Product Earth 2021', we gave away a disc of five feminised Perfect Tree seeds of different strains with every purchase that included seeds. In addition, we loved to see huge attention drawn to our clothing range, where we took three of the most prominent American brands; 'The Smoker's Club', 'Alien Labs', and 'Runtz'. The attraction also increased when our customers discovered we were giving away 'Kenex' or 'The Smoker's Club' rosin scales with each item of clothing. Extra promos included popular stickers, ROOR CBD gum and OCB papers, Puresativa hat pins, seed catalogues, mouse mats with our in-house artwork. All giveaways and purchases were presented in our deluxe 'Drop Seeds Not Bombs' bags, swinging throughout the exhibition hall and courtyard in the hands of our loyal customers.
As we globally become increasingly educated for the demand of an environmentally conscious world, our 'Sativa Bags' range from our sister company were a recurring interest amongst customers and retailers. 'Sativa Bags' are designed in house and produced by a family-run company in China with whom we work very closely; the sustainable and vegan bags are made of 55% Hemp and 45% organic cotton. Our newest collection was a hit with those integrated into the latest streetwear culture and had a strong style identity, with products such as the 'The Sling', 'The Mini Crossbody' and 'The Crossover'. Of course, we also carried our classic staples such as the 'Eco Gorgeous Shoulder Bag' and the 'Hemp Medium City Backpack', all identified for their high quality, style and functionality.
From our assortment of paraphernalia, we were overwhelmed with the demand for the 'Hemp Grinder' by 'Santa Cruz Shredder', which is entirely biodegradable, including the sticker label. Perceived as a 'green' community, we are unfortunately a significant contributor to the planet's detriment due to our plastic consumption of products such as grinders. 'Santa Cruz Shredders' is credited by the people for being one of the superior grinders. By providing a top product, the 'Hemp Grinder', that is environmentally conscious, we completely sold out, much to our delight. One of the newest items to our Puresativa stockroom was the 'Rolling Travel Kit', which was a 'Revelry' and 'Santa Cruz Shredder' collaboration. We were excited to distribute such an incredible team up by 'Revelry' and 'Santa Cruz Shredders' at the 'Product Earth' exhibition almost immediately after release. 'Reverly' is iconic for its slick odour and waterproof bags. Therefore the full range of bags was available in various colours, which were a clear favourite at the show due to their purpose and discreet appearance.
Other best sellers at the 'Product Earth' show included a select range of storage containers by 'Re:Stash' in collaboration with 'Cookies', 'Runtz', 'The Smoker's Club' and 'Alien Labs'; of which some designs matched the clothing merchandise encouraging our customers to complete their looks. Finally, 'Vibes' and 'OCB' papers were a hot product at the show due to their competitive pricing and top quality. Although, we understand that papers are specific to each individual's personal preferences, and usually, people are reluctant to change. 'Vibes' and 'OCB' papers and cones were highly sought after from their loyal customers and endless new ones, perhaps converting to the 'OCB' or 'Vibes' lifestyle.
Culture
Alongside the countless unique retailers and seminars, one of the highlights has to be the Glass Blowing Zone sponsored by 'The Hashashin's Gallery' based off of Brick Lane in London. The team over at 'Hashashin's' are a relatively new company that organised a groundbreaking selection of the very best artisanal glassblowers in the UK. The event was hosted by the esteemed DokGlass, who curated the lineup, which featured: Hiveglass, BurtanGoGlass, GlassHaze, MellowGlass, BrightonGlass, Glass_Charlie, IllusiveGlass, Established_Glass, ElbartoGlass and Sam.Pedro. The zone celebrated the diverse range of talent that is encompassed in the UK. Whilst glassblowing has been a pivotal part of the event since its origin in 2015, this year's lineup has taken the occasion to lofty new heights. Many individuals commissioned custom pieces at the event and were able to see the intricate details being crafted first-hand. We at PureSativa were certainly marvelling at the level of intricacy embedded into so many of the pieces.
The courtyard provided a hub of entertainment during the day with chillout areas, music from a range of DJs, and plenty of food and drinks. This year Product Earth outdid itself with its choices of food trucks from day to night, such as the banging Caribbean food as promoted by Tim Westwood all the way down to burgers and some delicious vegan options to accommodate everyone. A highlight of the courtyard was undoubtedly the 'Four One Four Skate Parks' for people to pull up and show off their tricks and honoured the appearance of the British Skateboarding champions, demonstrating their unmatched skills.
Last but not least, a 'Product Earth' event isn't complete without entertainment. The main sponsor and company curating the performances at the 'After Dark Event' were 'Mills Nutrients UK', which we could guarantee wouldn't disappoint. The event invited exhibitors and customers to attend a relaxing and exciting night of music and performances after their days of networking, buying and selling. 'Mills Nutrients UK' brought their incredibly talented and much-loved network of in-house DJs to the stage. They also granted us headlining acts such as' SoomT' and 'DJ.Woody', bringing us from reggae to hip hop stealing the crowd's hearts, as well as the rapping fanatics known as the 'Beast Decoys'. Then ending with the grande finale of the live drummers known as the 'Drum Machine', who tore the roof down with their powerful energy.
We are beyond thrilled for what 'Product Earth' offers next year and are grateful for everyone that made the event as groundbreaking as it was & we can't wait to see everyone there again
