Saddle-Up With PureSativa.com And The Medical Cannabis Bike Tour

On 11th March the Medical Cannabis Bike Tour will set off from just outside Valencia on it’s meandering 3-day procession and arrive on 13th March in Barcelona for the start of Europe’s largest cannabis expo – Spannabis.

Over 40 cyclists from all across Europe are taking part in this year’s tour:  like-minded people hoping to make a difference to the way that cannabis is viewed.

PureSativa.com are once again, proud to be sponsoring this event which aims to raise money to help fund the work of scientists at Complutense University in Madrid where Doctors Guzman and Valesco are researching the use of cannabinoids to fight cancer.  Some of the funds raised will also be used to lobby the European Court of Human Rights to achieve equal rights for medical cannabis users right across Europe.

The Medical Cannabis Tour began as a result of frustration that despite studies showing that cannabis can prevent the division of cancer cells, prevent tumour growth and relieve patients suffering, there still remains a stigma attached to cannabis which inhibits the amount of thorough scientific research carried out on the subject.  The plant’s legal status in Europe is holding back proper research, and potentially denying patients the treatment and palliative care that could otherwise be available to them.

Last year, the Medical Cannabis Bike Tour raised €50,000 which has been used to fund medical cannabis research, promote medical cannabis awareness and fund legal campaigns to secure equal rights for medical cannabis users at The European Court Of Human Rights.  Hopefully, 2014’s tour will be an even bigger success with more riders, more sponsorship, more volunteers, and crucially, more attention brought to this important cause.
