Roor Bongs - The best glass pipes in the world!
When thinking about purchasing a premium glass bong few can fail to take into account the purchase of a roor. Founded by Martin Bizle in Frankanthaul Germany, this premium glass brand has grown to become a global phenomenon and was even the bong of choice for Mark Phelps the Olympian!
Roor Glass Pipes are all hand made in Germany by craftsmen, each piece is crafted from Schott Duran Borosilicate Glass some of the finest glass available. The ethos behind these "sci-glass" pipes is the utilisation of standard scientific glass joints - glass on glass, to form seals in the piece and therefore not needing any other material. This then allows the smoker to enjoy a cleaner, purer and more tasteful smoke as everything used to smoke is completely inert. Unlike some metal bongs or acrylic bongs, roor premium glass is exactly that premium glass.
You can buy RooR Bongs in various sizes these are usually denoted through the colour of the label attached to the pipe. This as a whole tends to denote the wall thickness of a roor bongs. The blue Series for instance is the budget range of roor glass. It is only 2.5mm thick and as such is not as robust as say the green label roor bong which is 7mm thick. You then have the various other thicknesses 3.2mm, 3.5, 4.2, 5.0 and as mentioned before 7.0.
Each roor bong has a code number and this tells you a lot about the roor product including height, thickness of bong and glass joint size. for instance a 735-18 is 7mm thick, 35cm tall and has a 18.8 joint size. They also used to have a b on the end to denote that the pipe was a bistabil, this was before roor Germany made bistabil a standard joint strength. Bistabil joint adds approximately 40% more glass to the joint where the down stem enters the bong chamber, this makes it very strong and less likely to break.
Breaking a roor is thankfully a rare occurrence due in part to its premium material and the fact that roor put their pipes through a very vigorous quality control process which makes sure that their customers receive only the best glass in the world.
